I'm a painter and web developer exploring the physical and virtual intersection of the textual (from items like: code, novels, spam, poetry, etc...) and the graphic in artwork (most of the time) and trying to develop painterly conversations about these items. Or more plainly: I'm using the visual stuff from my everyday life and the ideas that surround them to connect with color and composition.

These works start with a text of some sort (from a book, magazine, train ticket, digital screen shot, piece of spam, etc...) and are then manipulated or transformed by artistic practices/tools (paint, pencil, photoshop, animation, etc...). Some of my pieces are made of real paint and paper, while others are digitally produced and printed or are virtual and may only be seen via a computer or a projection.

I grew up in New Orleans, received a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from L.S.U. in 1986 and now live in New Haven, Connecticut. Some of my work may be seen online at the following urls: http://www.poppingpixels.org, and http://www.rhizome.org and http://www.centropablo.cult.cu/.
